Sam Smith has candidly shared their journey with tattoos, revealing a fondness that’s grown into what they call an addiction.

The talented singer, who identifies as non-binary, has decorated their body with an impressive collection of 35 tattoos, most recently adding designs on their belly and neck.

In an engaging conversation with Roman Kemp after thrilling the audience at Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball in London, the 30-year-old artist expressed:

“I’ve got ‘romance’ inked on my belly. Plus an anchor on my chest. Tattoos have become a genuine passion for me, with over 35 now.”

Sam elaborated on their latest tattoo endeavors, noting a shift to adorning their torso and revealed that munching on Cheetos helps ease into the tattooing process.

“We were vibing with lots of pop music which made the experience delightful,” Sam shared. “Cheetos in hand, it just set the perfect tone.”

The chat followed Sam’s spectacular appearance at the Jingle Bell Ball, where they dazzled the crowd in a sparkling silver jumpsuit.

Sam proudly came out as non-binary in 2019, describing a lifelong struggle with their gender identity.

In recent times, the singer has spoken about embracing their natural curves and newfound confidence in posing without a shirt.

“Previously, even for a simple photo shoot in a T-shirt, I’d deprive myself for weeks, dissect every picture, and often end up deleting it,” Sam remarked.

“However, I decided to fight back. I’m reclaiming my body, embracing the chest, hips, and curves my parents gifted me, cherishing them wholeheartedly.”

“Some might view this as vanity, but if they understood the courage it takes and the body struggles I endured growing up, they’d see it differently.”

Since sharing their first shirtless photo in years, Sam has visibly grown more comfortable in their skin, showcasing radiant confidence in subsequent images.
