Reports from local media have highlighted alarming videos circulating on social media that depict hospital corridors packed with ailing individuals wearing face masks.

Concerned parents are seen clutching their sick children, waiting in long lines within pediatric departments.

Unverified sources even suggest that crematoriums and funeral parlors are experiencing heightened pressure due to the spread of the virus.

The government’s silence and the distressing images from hospitals have stirred fears among onlookers, reminiscent of the initial stages of the COVID-19 outbreak in China.

According to local news, the virus identified is HMPV, or Human Metapneumovirus, which typically results in mild cold symptoms. However, official confirmation is still pending.

This situation parallels the winter of 2022 and 2023, when the nation suffered from a significant outbreak of mycoplasma pneumonia, a condition known as “white lung,” though it is generally mild.
