Julia’s world changed forever the day her husband Tom was diagnosed with cancer. It was a devastating blow and, heartbreakingly, Tom passed away just two months later.

It wasn’t until Julia opened an unexpected package that her sister had brought over, that she discovered a truth she never imagined. Inside was a phone belonging to Mike, who had been using it secretly each month to make sure Rob stayed away!
To Julia’s utter shock, Mike had manipulated young Rob, convincing him that his mother would be happier in his absence, then sending him off to live with an aunt from his dad’s side.
Julia’s friend Schuyler found all of this out after an unexpected wedding invitation arrived addressed to Julia! Despite what Mike told him about how his mother didn’t want him in her life anymore, Rob wished for her presence on his wedding day.
Schuyler tracked Rob down using the return address on the invite and learned that Mike had secretly kept in touch with Rob for over a decade, unbeknownst to Julia.
Mike reportedly said to Rob, “Look how much your mom has to work. Wouldn’t it be better if she could use that time and money on herself? Wouldn’t it be liberating for her not to have you around?” As a result, Rob felt he no longer had a place in Julia’s life.
Julia, using a burner phone, made contact with Rob, explaining everything and assuring him that she had never stopped searching for him.
Determined to make things right, Julia divorced Mike. She sold the property they had shared and bought a new home right next to Rob’s. She attended the wedding, and now she happily takes on the role of a grandma too!
