Mom Installs Baby Monitor in Son’s Room and Gets Scared When She Sees Movement There

Alicia installed a baby monitor in her son Edduin’s room because she’d noticed him being unusually tired and restless. Little did she know a shocking revelation was about to unfold…

One night, as she gently rocked Edduin in her arms, she said, “Don’t worry, honey. Everything will be fine. Momma is here,” trying to soothe his cries. After a while, her lullaby finally calmed him and she gently placed him back into his crib.

As Alicia tiptoed out of Edduin’s room and moved toward her laptop, she couldn’t shake the sense of unease. “How will I manage everything? I wish you were here, John!” she sighed, recalling happier times with her late husband.

Almost a year ago, before Edduin was born, Alicia and John had learned they couldn’t have children. Accepting their fate, they planned to travel the world, exploring the wonders of places like the Sydney Opera House and the beaches of Honolulu.

Then, unexpectedly, Alicia discovered she was pregnant. Overjoyed, she and John returned to their hometown to share the news. Being raised in foster care themselves, this new family felt like a blessing beyond their dreams.

However, Alicia’s happiness was shattered by a call from Officer Duncan. John had been in a tragic accident. Although Alicia had begged him not to leave for a business trip, fate had other plans. The news hit her hard, sending her into premature labor.

With the help of her neighbor, Mrs. Hall, Alicia and her newborn son survived the difficult time, but little Edduin needed immediate care in the NICU due to his early arrival.

Back home, Alicia plunged into running John’s business. Her MBA was a blessing, making the transition manageable, although challenging with a newborn.

Thankfully, John’s secretary, Madison, helped by setting up Alicia’s home workspace, allowing Alicia to care for Edduin while working.

Raising Edduin alone, Alicia faced each day bravely, though she often missed John terribly. Trouble, however, was just around the corner. Recently, Edduin seemed restless and exhausted each morning.

Her doctor assured her that babies go through phases, but as weeks passed, Edduin’s condition didn’t improve.

One afternoon, Alicia heard a strange giggle from his room. Alarmed, she checked the baby monitor. Everything seemed normal until, suddenly, a shadow moved across the screen, stirring a mixture of fear and curiosity within her.

Fearing for Edduin’s safety, Alicia rushed to his room, only to find her toddler giggling at a small, scruffy dog hiding shyly by the crib.

Relief washed over her as she realized the furry intruder was harmless. The scruffy little dog had somehow found its way inside the nursery, capturing Edduin’s attention and occupying his thoughts well into the night.

Alicia’s late dog, Doblo, used to enjoy playing in that same room when John was alive, before it became Edduin’s nursery.

Struck by the little dog’s state, Alicia welcomed it into their family and named him Casper. Thanks to Casper, Edduin found a loyal companion, his sleepless nights replaced by peaceful rest, and a newfound sense of joy filled their home.
