For over 14 years, Hayley battled severe dental issues. With numerous teeth lost and persistent abscesses, it wasn’t just her smile that took a hit—her confidence did too. “I was always hesitant to show my teeth when I smiled,” she confessed.

A Difficult Financial Decision
The cost of dental work in the UK was staggering: £28,000. Such a sum was beyond what Hayley could manage. Meanwhile, in Turkey, the same dental overhaul was priced at a far more appealing £8,000, including flights, at Antalya’s Smilepod Dental Clinic.
“The price difference was substantial,” Hayley explained. Despite some warnings about getting dental work abroad, Hayley felt reassured by the clinic’s good reputation and decided to proceed.
An Exhausting Yet Rewarding Procedure
In October, Hayley made her way to Turkey for the procedure. Over four hours, her remaining 13 teeth were removed and replaced with ten new implants. She now has full implants and temporary dentures for the healing period.
“I stayed awake the whole time,” Hayley shared, hinting at the procedure’s intensity. Yet, she kept her sights on the brighter future, looking forward to a smile she would proudly show off.
Managing Post-Surgery Challenges
Post-surgery, Hayley experienced noticeable bruising that made her almost unrecognizable. Nonetheless, she managed to stay positive. “My face might have looked worse, but I felt wonderful inside,” she remarked.
Such discoloration is common with major dental surgery, and Hayley coped by keeping her eyes on the recovery ahead. “It was a bit of a shock, but I knew it was temporary,” she noted.

Once back home as of October 17, Hayley adopted a strict soft-food diet to help her new implants heal properly. “I couldn’t handle tough foods before all this, so it feels familiar,” she laughed.
Sticking to post-operative advice is crucial, and Hayley is determined to follow it to ensure her best recovery and awaited results. “I’m eagerly waiting for my permanent set,” she stated confidently.
Support from Others Undergoing Surgery
Hayley wasn’t alone in her Turkish adventure; she found camaraderie with fellow patients at her hotel, all recovering from their respective surgeries. She noted, “We all encouraged and cheered each other on during our recoveries.”
Treatments at the clinic, including pain relief and anti-inflammatories, also eased her journey significantly. This strong support network was a comfort through the process.
Confidence Restored
Since returning home, Hayley’s confidence is renewed. “This has transformed everything for me,” she enthused. Even those close to her notice a new spring in her step. The grandmother no longer hesitates to smile broadly.
“I truly feel like a new person,” Hayley reflected joyfully, “and I just can’t stop smiling.” The decision to undergo the “Turkey teeth” procedure has been a life-changing boost to her self-worth.
