Ellen DeGeneres, 66, Shares Her Journey with Triple Medical Diagnosis: ‘Honesty is Tough’

Ellen DeGeneres, at the age of 66, has opened up about a significant personal journey. She chose to disclose her triple diagnosis, shedding light on some challenges she’s been silently facing.

The beloved television host, known for her lively presence and engaging talk shows, shared that her recent medical revelations were quite unexpected—news she never foresaw.

It commenced during a routine bone density scan, where Ellen discovered she was dealing with osteoporosis, a condition often related to aging. Initially, she assumed it was merely an injury, but the reality was different.

Soon after, she learned of two other diagnoses—ADHD and OCD. This period coincided with her decision to take a step back from the public eye, a move that many speculated about.

Especially daunting were the challenges she faced from accusations by colleagues, painting her work environment as toxic. Ellen expressed how these allegations were unexpected and painful.

However, she’s mustered the courage to move forward, determined to leave the shadows of the past behind.

Speaking to her audience, DeGeneres described the difficulty in even simple acts, like standing, due to her condition. She humorously compared herself to a ‘human sandcastle’, fearing she may crumble just like one might in a shower.

‘Some days I wonder how I’m managing to stand. I hope and pray things improve, though few realize what I’m truly coping with,’ Ellen shared candidly.

As for the recent criticism, Ellen has adopted an approach of letting go, recognizing that she cannot control others’ opinions or actions and choosing to focus on what she can manage herself.
