Carmen Bryan has opened up amidst serious allegations surrounding Jay-Z. During a significant period from 1995 to 2004, she was involved in a nine-year affair with the rapper. During this time, Carmen became pregnant, but tragically miscarried. It was a complicated time, as she was also involved with his rival at that time, Nas.
The 52-year-old recently shared her perspective on the unsettling allegations against Jay-Z, saying, “Nowadays, folks often defend those they like rather than what’s right. That’s the reason many are called ‘groupies.’”
Carmen criticized Jay-Z for his controversial reference to himself in Kanye West’s song “Monster,” which includes lyrics like: “Kill a block, I murder the avenues, I rape and pillage your village, women and children.”
Looking back at an interview from 2017, Carmen described her pregnancy during the affair. “I was three months along, in the first trimester. It wasn’t planned; it just happened,” she explained. Her relationship with Nas had ended by then, and she had relocated to Los Angeles with Destiny.
“Although Nas and I had broken up, we were still seeing each other. The relationship was complicated and far from over,” Carmen added, referring to Jay-Z’s track “Takeover.”
In response to the allegations, Jay-Z has strongly denied the accusations, labeling the lawsuit as a “blackmail attempt.” The rapper issued a statement condemning the claims, spotlighting his family and the broader impact such allegations could have on them.
“My children, including Blue Ivy, and my twins Rumi and Sir, are at ages where they should be shielded from such negativity,” Jay-Z pointed out. “My wife and I will have to tackle difficult conversations due to these claims.”
The allegations arose from a lawsuit filed by a Jane Doe, who claimed she was 13 at the time of the alleged events. Describing an encounter during a 2000 house party after the VMAs, she accused Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs of inappropriate conduct.
While the legal proceedings unfold, both Jay-Z and Diddy firmly deny the accusations, asserting their confidence in being proven innocent through the judicial process.
Diddy’s legal team also used the limelight to declare that the lawsuits against him are “publicity-driven,” aimed at extracting money via false accusations. “In court, the truth will emerge,” they asserted confidently.
This controversy has shaken many, especially considering Jay-Z’s prominent family and public life. “We come from a background with values and honor,” Jay-Z expressed, condemning any exploitation for personal gain.
As the story develops, the focus remains on the pursuit of truth and justice, overshadowing the claims with the integrity of the judicial system.
