Adorable 7-Month-Old Matthew Looks Like a Newborn Due to Rare Condition

Meet the charming young Matthew Riddle III, a seven-month-old who has captured hearts with his extraordinary condition.

Despite being seven months old, Matthew resembles a newborn, owing to a condition known as primordial dwarfism type II. His resilience is truly inspiring, as he demonstrates that good things indeed come in small packages.

With his adorable big brown eyes and cheeky grin, Matthew is a picture of cuteness, even boasting tiny feet typical of a newborn. However, explaining why he appears this way has been a challenge. His parents have shared insights into his unique condition.

Matthew’s distinct condition is officially called microcephalic osteoplastic primordial dwarfism type II, which means he will always be of a smaller stature.

While his overall health is normal, his small size sets him apart. “There’s nothing wrong with being a little different,” his parents affirm, embracing his uniqueness.

Weighing just 0.554 kilograms at birth, Matthew’s growth during the pregnancy was a cause for concern. His mother had to face the prospect of early delivery when she was induced at just 28 weeks into her term.

Despite initial fears for both her life and Matthew’s, he spent 98 days in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and emerged strong enough to go home and begin his life outside the hospital.

Matthew’s mother shared that even doctors were initially baffled by his condition. His unexpected halt in growth left experts concerned about his survival. Yet, Matthew defied expectations and today, he continues to thrive happily.
