The United States Army sergeant who had the honor of dancing with Melania Trump during the Commander-in-Chief Ball has opened up about the experience. This special event took place in celebration of Donald Trump’s inauguration as the country’s 47th president.
Sergeant Henry Waller had the opportunity to dance with the First Lady on January 20. Alongside them, Vice President JD Vance and his wife Usha, as well as other distinguished members from the military branches like the Marine Corps and the Navy, took to the floor.
“It was fantastic—she’s a really good dancer,” remarked Sergeant Henry Waller, reflecting on his memorable dance with Melania Trump at the Commander-in-Chief’s Ball. His graceful twirl with the First Lady was captured by many eyes, sparking quite the conversation on social platforms.
Social media platforms were abuzz with videos that show Melania dancing and exchanging smiles with Sergeant Waller. At one point, she even leaned in to whisper into his ear, capturing the attention of many.
In an interview with Inside Edition, Sergeant Waller shared insights into their chat during the dance.
Sergeant Waller expressed, “I walked out on stage, trying to maintain my composure. Yet, we were informed that it wasn’t necessary to uphold strict ceremonial composure. We were free to smile if we chose to.”
“Standing on that stage and hearing the cheers from the crowd was an overwhelming joy,” he recounted.
As they danced, Waller asked Melania about her evening. Her response was a simple, “It’s going good,” and she reciprocated the question. “It was fantastic,” Waller replied with evident joy.
Furthermore, he was eager to share his thoughts on Melania’s dancing skills and confidently exclaimed, “Oh, yeah, she’s a really good dancer.” Waller laughingly admitted that his only practice came from “back home with my wife.”
During the night, President Trump also participated in the dancing festivities, dancing with Sergeant Tatiana Saldana from the United States Space Force. It was reminiscent of a scene where the spirit of celebration filled the room.
Vice President JD Vance and his wife enjoyed the evening by swapping dance partners, adding to the joyous atmosphere that marked a night to remember.
This dance not only celebrated a significant political event but also highlighted moments of connection and unity, symbolized beautifully through the art of dance. Such occasions often serve as poignant reminders of togetherness, even amidst the grandeur of political ceremonies.
