Tesla Driver Leaves People Shocked Revealing First Electricity Bill In 12 Months

A Tesla owner has recently stunned individuals by revealing their initial electricity bill after a full year.

According to energy provider EDF, the cost of running an electric vehicle can vary based on its make and model. However, owning an electric car is generally expected to be more economical in the long term, with reduced maintenance expenses.

Getting a home outlet to charge an electric car typically costs around $1090 (£900).

Octopus Energy indicates that charging your vehicle at home costs about 3p (just under 4 cents) per mile, while utilizing public charging stations might cost around 18p per mile ($0.22).

The time required to charge can differ based on the car’s make, model, and mileage capabilities.

An American Tesla owner amazed his followers by sharing their first annual bill on social media. The user, known as @Tesla_GTownTX, posted a screenshot, stating, “First time I’ve had a bill in the past 12 months. This is disappointing,” but surprisingly, the bill amounted to only $2.37, leaving many astounded by its low figure.

Some curious followers inquired, “How much did you invest in the solar panels and wall battery?” while others requested, “Share your details for power wall or solar panel charges.”

Tesla_GTownTX clarified that they managed to keep the bill minimal by employing solar panels alongside a Tesla Powerwall, a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that stores energy.

Tesla explained that, “Powerwall allows you to save energy for future use and collaborates with solar to offer essential energy security and financial advantages.”

“Each Powerwall system features energy monitoring, metering, and smart controls, enabling customization via the Tesla app.”

The price of a Powerwall ranges between $6,000 and $12,000.
