A remarkable couple who captured everyone’s attention due to their substantial age difference has announced their separation following two years of marriage.

Iris Jones, an 83-year-old British retiree, made headlines when she shared her romantic involvement with Mohamed Ibriham, an Egyptian man 46 years her junior.

The couple’s unique love story began on Facebook in 2019, and within a year, Iris and Mohamed decided to wed. Soon after, they openly discussed their vibrant intimate life once Mohamed moved to the UK on a three-year visa granted in 2021.

However, as time went on, the relationship encountered hurdles, and their union didn’t last much beyond their cohabitation.

In a recent interview with Closer, Iris shared that she and Mohamed had parted ways and delved into the factors contributing to their breakup.

“I was enamored with everything about Mohammed. However, it eventually became quite taxing. We once enjoyed a wonderful intimate life, but eventually, arguments over trivial matters prevailed. I’m not a love-struck teenager. At 83, I refuse to endure that,” Iris remarked.

Iris now finds solace in the companionship of her cat, whom she appreciates for being undemanding and easy on the eyes.

“I adopted him shortly after Mohamed left, and he’s the ideal companion. No complaints, tranquil, and aesthetically pleasing. I absolutely adore him,” Iris shared.

“He’s quite content here and keeps everything orderly. I don’t miss Mohammed. The only frustration I had when he left was that he took my tempura battered prawns, which I’d planned to have for dinner that evening.”
