Elon Musk Has Officially Changed His Name On X

Elon Musk has officially changed his name on X.

Earlier this week, Musk surprised his followers by altering his profile name to “Kekius Maximus.” This unexpected move puzzled many among his nearly 210 million followers. In addition to the name change, Musk swapped his profile picture for an image of Pepe the Frog dressed as a gladiator.

Musk has not provided a clear explanation for this change, but there are a few clues that might help us understand it.

Some of his fans have speculated that the new name is a blend of the Pepe the Frog character and Maximus Decimus Meridius, the character played by Russell Crowe in the movie Gladiator.

Pepe originally appeared in the comic series “Boy’s Club” and has since been appropriated by some groups online, including those within the alt-right and white supremacist circles.

Adding to the intrigue, Musk teased his followers with a cryptic message, saying: “Kekius Maximus will soon reach level 80 in hardcore PoE.”

This mention of “PoE” is thought to refer to “Path of Exile 2,” a popular video game and not necessarily related to anything sinister.

Some think it might also have cryptocurrency connotations, as “Kekius Maximus” is a type of memecoin. Musk has previously been linked with meme coins, notably impacting the cryptocurrency world with “Dogecoin.”

There’s speculation that this name change might be associated with a burner account. There is a theory floating around that suggests Musk had an unofficial fan account using the pseudonym Adrian Dittmann. Musk has dismissed these rumors and even found humor in those who believe he operates such an account.
