Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Reach Divorce Settlement After 8 Years

After eight long years, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have finally settled their divorce. It has certainly been a drawn-out process that has seen its fair share of ups and downs.

In a statement from her lawyer, James Simon, he explained, “More than eight years ago, Angelina filed for divorce from Mr. Pitt. She and the children left all of the properties they had shared with Mr. Pitt, and since that time she has focused on finding peace and healing for their family.”

He continued, “This is just one part of a long ongoing process that started eight years ago. Frankly, Angelina is exhausted, but she is relieved this one part is over.”

Reflecting back, Brad and Angelina got engaged in April 2012, a time when there seemed to be so much hope and happiness on the horizon. The couple married in August 2014 in what was a private and romantic ceremony.

However, things took a turn for the worst in 2016, shortly after their second wedding anniversary. Angelina filed for divorce, and many were surprised given how deeply in love the couple seemed.

In 2022, details emerged about what has come to be known as the “infamous plane incident,” happening mere days before Angelina filed for divorce. According to allegations, there were accusations that Brad had “choked one of the children and struck another in the face,” and even “grabbed Jolie by the head and shook her.” Additionally, it was claimed he “poured beer and red wine” over family members on that fateful day.

Both the FBI and the Department of Children & Family Services cleared Brad of any wrongdoing after investigations, and he denied all allegations of physical violence. Despite the strain of these accusations, the legal process continued to take its course.

Back in April 2019, a judge had ruled that Brad and Angelina were legally single, however, challenges remained as they spent subsequent years working through custody arrangements and dividing their shared assets.

Now, as they reach this settlement, it marks the end of this lengthy legal chapter in their lives. It seems Angelina can finally breathe a sigh of relief, even if it brings weariness. The focus now appears to be completely on family and healing, and stepping forward in the hope of better, more peaceful days ahead.

As we look back on their journey, we’re reminded of the initial joy that surrounded their union, the challenges they faced in the public eye, and ultimately, their efforts to find closure for the sake of their children and themselves. It’s been a long road, but both Angelina and Brad can now look towards the future with a sense of newfound finality and the opportunity to carve new paths for themselves and their family.
