‘World’s Hairiest Girl’ Has Completely Shaven Her Face

Once known as “The World’s Hairiest Girl”, Supatra “Natty” Susuphan is embracing her life with confidence and joy, regularly shaving the excess hair from her body. She now shares delightful photos with her new love.

Supatra, now 23, has a rare genetic condition called Ambras Syndrome, also known as Werewolf Syndrome. This condition, a form of hypertrichosis, leads to excessive hair growth. Throughout history, it’s a condition that’s puzzled many, as only about 50 people have been known to have it since the Middle Ages. Due to this, some were mistakenly viewed as werewolves. For Supatra, this means thick hair naturally grows on various parts of her body including her face, ears, arms, legs, and back.

Back in 2010, Guinness World Records acknowledged Supatra as the world’s hairiest girl. She even tried laser treatment, but the hair continued to grow. Today, she chooses to shave her body hair regularly.

Supatra is open about the challenges, especially the teasing she faced during school days with nicknames like Wolf Girl and Chewbacca. Yet, her family and friends have been a constant support. She once shared with Guinness World Records, “I don’t feel any different to anyone else, and I’ve got lots of friends at school… Being hairy makes me special. There were a few people who used to tease me and call me monkey face but they don’t do it any more. I’m very used to this condition. I can’t feel the hair as it has always been like this. I don’t feel anything. It does sometimes make it difficult to see when it gets long. I hope I will be cured one day.”

In matters of the heart, her condition hasn’t been an obstacle. In 2018, news spread across various outlets like Metro and the Daily Mail that Supatra had married her high school sweetheart, calling him the “love of her life” on social media. Now, she seems to have a new love. Recently, Supatra has been sharing cherished moments with a new partner, Suchada Poonlumpao.

Her Facebook page, which she has been using to update about her life, shows photos of her clean-shaven face along with her new companion. In December 2022, she celebrated five months with Poonlumpao by sharing pictures of them together. These photos capture smiles and happiness, reflecting a joyful time in her life.

Poonlumpao has reciprocated these feelings, posting their romantic moments on his own Facebook profile. As for their origins and how their relationship blossomed following her previous relationship, it remains a private story between them. Their Facebook pages describe them in a “domestic partnership.”

Embracing Change

This young woman’s journey serves as an inspiring story of embracing one’s unique identity while also celebrating life’s changes. Whether she’s sharing a warm smile or a moment with her partner, Supatra’s story reminds us of the power in accepting ourselves and opening up to the happiness that life offers.

Her continuous updates and interactions on social media have resonated with many, providing a glimpse into a life that’s as normal and celebrated as any other, despite the hurdles her condition might pose.

Supatra’s story is more than just about being crowned with a world record title; it’s about resilience, love, and embracing who you are. It serves as a gentle nudge for others to appreciate themselves and recognize that differences are what make each of us special in our own right.
