Rock Singer Mina Caputo Says They’re De-Transitioning Back To Male After More Than A Decade As Female

Rock singer Mina Caputo recently announced a heartfelt decision to de-transition back to male after spending over a decade living as a female.

The renowned 50-year-old musician, known for their work as the lead vocalist for the rock band Life of Agony, originally came out as transgender in 2011.

Through the years, Mina Caputo has been open and honest about their journey. Recently, Mina shared a personal message on social media declaring they have been off hormones for quite some time now and are embracing their original male self once again.

In an Instagram video, Mina expressed, “Yes, I’m off of hormones for six, seven years now. And this January 2025, I am – my surgery has been booked to remove my fake breasts, and I will be lovingly living in my divine male self.”

Mina explained that healing from gender dysphoria has been a long journey, involving a lot of self-reflection and introspection. They shared, “I’ve cured my gender dysphoria. It took many years, a lot of walking through the fire, but I rose above my misunderstandings of my soul and my spirit.”

While addressing comments from others, Mina said, “I’m at a place where there’s no more pain […] And I’ve been existing in a different version of myself – a more healed version of myself.” The singer pointed out that some people have criticized their appearance, saying they look like a man.

Mina responded, “And it’s like, ‘Honey lamb, I am a man, I always was a man’. You’re just not used to hearing authentic people speak, you’re used to people spitting lies at you about their identity.”

Mina also emphasized the importance of authenticity, mentioning, “And all the real transsexuals know what I’m talking about because they own their authenticity. They’re not about violating women’s rights or the innocence of children and all that.”

Mina has indicated plans to change their name back to Keith, expressing a realization, “I was quite lost, so I integrated the feminine because she’s always been within and it’s a play on energy.”

Reflecting on their experience, Mina said, “That’s all life is – energy, frequency, and vibration. And that’s all I did because I engaged with the feminine, didn’t ever make me a biological woman ever and I never will be.”

Mina, who has been through significant challenges, shared a sense of pride in overcoming them. “I’m very proud of myself. I’ve been through so much over the years. I wouldn’t wish gender dysphoria on my worst enemy. It’s one of the most uncomfortable things I’ve ever been through in my life, and I’m just so happy it’s over.”

They continued, “[…] What once freed me now caged me […] And now I’m changing back again. I know I’m a more healed version of who I am because what my spirit has put myself through. I walked through so many fires, so much adversity I’ve been through in my life.”

Looking ahead, Mina expressed enthusiasm about the future, “I’m off of hormones. I’m […] physically completely de-transitioned in 2025. I can’t wait. I feel so free.”
